It can be tough training a team to operate a system and get the most out of it. Many of our house of worship clients struggle to help their volunteers understand their systems, operate them in a way that benefits the team, and still get good performance out of it. We can help.

From understanding and operating your specific equipment and system, through to understanding the basic fundamentals of a principle, we can help you and your team.

Whatever your team needs, we have various levels of training programs available to meet your specific requirements.

Setting the Stage: Basic Level

Understanding the fundamentals of how things work and why they work that way can help turn that knowledge into a powerful tool. Without a solid foundation, misunderstandings can make a production a disaster pretty quickly.

Our fundamentals courses in Audio, Video and Lighting can help your production team really get to the core of how the physics works, some of the common problems, why those problems happen, and some typical resolutions to address those common problems.

We cover some general equipment basics such as proper equipment selection and basic care for equipment; including how to wind cables.

We take some time to touch on the relational element of working these systems with a technical team, a producer/director and with on-stage talent.

Running the Show: Intermediate Level

Once the foundational principles are understood, we teach concepts such as signal routing, signal processing and some basic best practices on how best to handle signal.

The signal processing section includes topics such as equalization of audio signals, signal conversion, audio compression for broadcast, and basic lighting program settings.  We cover the basics of how to get a consistent, solid signal from point A to point B.

We also dive into some troubleshooting best practices, how to diagnose the problem and assess possible solutions.

We dig into understanding the relational aspects of working closely together within your technical team, and with your production management team and the talent.

Mastering the Show: Advanced Level

We dig into the advanced concepts of what can technically be done and some of the industries best practices of how to accomplish it. We talk about advanced signal routing and processing and the detail of what it takes to really pull together a cohesive, professional production.

We look at advanced troubleshooting and explore different troubleshooting methods as well as different ways to implement solutions.

We take a deep dive into the relational side and how the tech team and others work together in harmony to ensure a smooth production.

Behind the Board: Mastering Your Equipment

This training is most effective after your team has at least reached the Intermediate Level. The Advanced Level is recommended.

We take your team on a deep dive into your system. We show you where to find the features you need, and how best to use them to get the most out of your system.

This training is done on your own facility's equipment and is designed to help your crew understand, find and manipulate your system's features.

We tailor this training to the specific needs of your facility.

Note: we do not typically train on system specifics that have potential to “permanently” effect mission critical systems, although this may be possible with a signed waiver. For more information please contact us.
